For LDS Temple weddings the temple is just a great background with the beautiful architecture and awesome landscapings. I love the temple grounds of every temple!

I have been involved in photography for about nine years now. It all began with me working in a photo lab. I got really lucky and worked with two girls that were majoring in photography. I didn’t realize then how getting hired in that photo lab would change my life and my occupation.

35mm film was still "the thing". As I would scan film through the scanner and print people’s pictures, I noticed how some people didn’t know what focusing a camera meant, and then there were people that had such a great eye and would take some amazing photographs! I wanted to do that (take the amazing photographs). So, I bought a Canon camera, bought some film and away I went.

It was like being in school and getting paid! I had two awesome co-workers who would teach me the things I did right and things I could improve on. After awhile I started seeing things in "pictures", so to speak. I would be driving down the road and see something that would make a great photograph, pull over the car and snap a shot.

This continued on for some time until one day I thought I would take a "shot" at doing some family portraits. I found a guinea pig family and went to a park, posed them here and there, took some candid’s of the kids running around and boom....I was hooked.

That’s pretty much my story. I have never had a passion that has held onto me for so long. I never get tired of it. With the digital cameras that are out there now and Adobe Photoshop, I just can’t stop learning and trying new things....sometimes I drive my family crazy.

I love the control of digital, but sometimes I have to pull out my film camera and make sure I can really take a picture. No cheating with film! Digital is awesome, especially when you are talking about someone’s memories of a wedding, family reunions, newborn baby or being a senior in high school. You want all the control and flexibility you can get.

Like I said, I have a passion for photography. I have been creative all my life starting out as a hair stylist and I’ve been involved in all kinds of crafts to express myself creatively. But it wasn’t until I really saw the world through a view finder of a camera that my passion was truly found. I discovered that there is so much more to taking a picture than pressing a button. I saw the beauty of capturing memories on film. I saw the reaction of my clients and the photographs I made for them and that continues to inspire me. Then I saw the artistic possibilities adding to the quality of the memories.

I grew up in Utah County and have lived all over Utah County. As a result, I have found a ton of awesome places where I really enjoy taking pictures. I have learned through clients of additional locations in Utah County and Salt Lake County. I am always on the look out for more choice spots to do photo shoots for engagement pictures, bridal pictures and groomals (bridal’s for men), family portraits, senior pictures and high school dance pictures. I love doing photo shoots with babies. Baby pictures are so cute!

Whether I am taking bridal’s or engagement pictures I have learned that the right location brings out the person’s/people’s personality and that shows in the photographs that I take. The same is true, of course, with all portraits. Photography is all about "location, location, location!" (Real estate isn’t the only profession that can use that quote.) It’s not like you have to go somewhere super expensive or travel half way around the world to get great engagements taken.

There are countless locations in our own "back yard". But sitting up against the paneling in the basement apartment of your friend is probably not the best idea. There are so many great places all around us.

Wedding photography is so fun. Sometimes I feel I get to relive my special moments and get paid for it. How amazing is that? Weddings are one of my favorite events to photo shoot. I’m a very social person and so I think that’s why I enjoy it. I get to meet all kinds of different people and be a part of one of a couple’s most important days. I really love taking candid shots at weddings and wedding receptions to really capture the special moments. This is not as easy as it seems. It took me a while to be able to hide enough but at the same time be close enough to capture whatever moment is happening.

This same concept holds true while taking senior pictures, baby pictures or family portraits. I consider myself an all occasion photographer because my passion knows no bounds when it comes to a camera and a subject to photograph. I even enjoy landscape photography.

Lighting and posing that is also an art, that is if you want the personality or theme to really stand out. My philosophy is each client is different which requires customizing the lighting, posing and location to the person and the moment. This creates the best memories, one click at a time.
